She gained a wealth of experience throughout her Veterinary Nursing career and Qualified as a professional dog trainer with the Association of Pet Dog Trainers in 2006. Emma is a member of ICAN, ABTC, UK Dog Behaviour & Training Charter & is a Qualified Trainer & Accredited Behaviourist with INTO Dogs Association. Emma also worked as a branch instructor for the Clever Dog Company for 5 years.
Emma regularly continues her professional development by attending courses in canine behaviour & training, veterinary nursing seminars & workshops throughout the year. She is currently embarking on an intense training course to become a Separation Anxiety professional & hopes to qualify in August 2021. Due to Covid-19 seeing more dog owners working from home, behaviourists are seeing a massive rise in separation related issues. Emma can now provide an in depth support programme to owners & dogs who are struggling to leave their dog at home alone.
Emma has competed all over the UK in dog agility to an exceptional standard with her CKCS Rosie. She also owned two rescue dogs: a collie cross called Millie who had severe separation anxiety & a Kelpie called Foxy who was extremely noise phobic & helped them overcome their complex behavioural issues.
Emma has now welcomed a new addition to her family: Maeve the Large Munsterlander. She is very much looking forward to their journey together expanding her knowledge in the gun dog, scent work & competitive obedience field.
Emma has a keen interest in helping sound sensitive dogs & dogs who lack in self confidence. She very much enjoys teaching children about dog safety.
